Head Coach Dustin Hass
Dustin Hass was named the 22nd head coach of the Red Men football program on Tuesday, February 20th following five seasons as defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach and previously over seeing the special teams unit.
Now entering his sixth season at Carthage and first as the head man, Dustin spent the past five season’s transforming Carthage into one of the premier defenses in the nation. In 2017, the Red Men ranked in the top 25 in fourth down defense, rush defense, pass defense efficiency, top 20 in 3rd down efficiency, first down defense, total defense and turnovers forced, ranked sixth in defensive touchdowns and fourth in interceptions. The Red Men defense also posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 1969 and it was the first time a Carthage team accomplished the feat to open a season since 1921.
While in the role of defensive coordinator, coach Hass led 14 Red Men defensive players to becoming College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-conference selections along with one D3football.com All-North Region honoree in 2017.
Dustin began his coaching career at Indiana University in both 2010 and 2011 as a graduate assistant before going to the College of Wooster where he served as an assistant coach for both football and track and field.
A native of Oconto, Wis., Hass lettered on the 2007 and 2008 Hoosier teams as a quarterback. He graduated from Indiana in 2008 with a bachelor’s in outdoor recreation and resource management and received his master’s in kinesiology, also from Indiana, in 2011.
Dustin and his wife, Jenna, live in Kenosha with their three children Tyler (seven years old), Tessa (five) and Caleb (three).
